How do you think tourism should be made more environmentally friendly?
Tourism has increasingly become discussed as a cultural and environmental phenomenon, and more often than not as destructive. What measures do you think should be taken?

- teaching people to put their waste in recycle bins and not on the floors of our streets!
- Have tourist patrol units, anyone who litters in banned from the surropunding area!
- i can tell you listen too the media way to much, there is no enviornmental crisis, no measures should be taken, let them handle it, yea i think we should pollute water less, but the U.S. is even at the top of pollutors, indias sueage goes into their drinking water, china is so industrialized sometimes you have to wear a mask too walk outside, and Russia dumps nuclear waste into lakes. Dont compare us too big pollutors, because we have large amounts of forest and enviornment safe areas for you hippies. if it werent for people like you gas in this country would cost so much less...why? because wed be able too dril in anwar, coast of caifornia, and new mexico, plus build new refineries (one hasnt been built since 1979).
- Making tourism more environmentally friendly is a sure-fire way to decrease tourism and cripple the fragile economies that depend on tourism. But hey, if you don't care, why should I? Make tourism illegal, for all I care. Just don't come complain to me when people lose their only source of income and have to resort to cutting down trees or growing drugs.
- If everybody sits at home and watch TV showing the world sights and sounds, then there will NOT BE SO MUCH car pollution, plane pollution, airports, hotels, bars, restaurants, money changers, sex trade, animal poaching, historical site overcrowding, etc
- Travel locally. Flying is one of the biggest producers of green house gases. And yes, Al Gore that includes you. PS: Icon MC what oil company do you work for?
