I want to go on a cheap island / beach vacation, any suggestions?

I am planning on going on a trip this summer to an island or beach for vacation. I want to go somewhere with a good exchange rate, cheap rooms, cheap food but still very nice. I was thinking about Bali or mabye Rio de Janiero?

1. I would recommend the Philippines. The island of Boracay, is supposed to have the best beaches. I have been to the island of Apuao Grande has a very nice white sand beach. The food is good and the rooms are not expensive. Check swaggy.com on the Internet, for the Swagman Hotel. They run the resort on Apuao Grande Island. The Swagman Hotel in Manila, is also a cheap hotel to stay in Manila after your flight. I have gone to the Philippines on Northwest with good results.

3. I would suggest any of the beach destinations in Thailand, Indonesia or philippines.U should seriously consider thailand though because U can find accomodation of any sort(5 star to budget)and the exchange rate is quiet good(especially if its from USD it should be awesome for u, U can find a wide variety of cuisine and the beaches are gorgeous.
4. We tried a few islands in Malaysia.They were fantastic,value for money & that vacation is un forgettable.We try to do it once a yr now.Diving is great,beautiful,colorful corals.White sandy beaches,great food & friendly ppl.Hope it helps.U can check the links below.It's visit Malaysia year 2007 & we're plannin go to again in a few months.lol Thailand might be a good place but its always too "crowded" wid tourists.I've always prefer it when it not too crowded..especially on the beach.
